formerly usda certified and Real organic project certified produce

Since the farm is no longer open to the public, in July of 2023 we resigned our USDA certification, which meant we also had to resign our Real Organic Project Certification as well. Maintaining our USDA certification is simply too costly now that we are limiting our food production.

We will continue to grow produce here on the farm on a small scale, using the exact same practices that were required to maintain our organic certification. Since moving forward we anticipate that our overall produce sales will be less than $5,000 per year, we can legally use the term “organic” when describing our food.

PURCHASING PRODUCE: After 13 years of growing amazing food and sharing it here on our farm, we are no longer open to the public. We officially closed the farm to the public on May 1st, 2023. Having sold the west half of our farm on October 16th, 2023, we’re looking forward to a marvelous working relationship with Sarah Glover and Laurie Scott of Organic Oasis, as they continue our tradition of growing organic food here on the farm! Visit their website for details on how to purchase their wonderful produce.

In 2024, we will be selling our Shadowood Farm grown produce to two wholesale customers ONLY.
