Shadowood Farm is devoted to teaching people how to grow their own organic food and sharing that gloriously GOOD food with others.

This ten acre, solar powered, agroforestry farm began growing organic vegetables and fruits in 2010. Prior to 2010, we spent over two decades growing Native plants.

Organic and sustainable are more than just fashionably, overused buzz words around here. After years of using organic practices, on October 10th, 2018, Shadowood Farm officially became Certified Organic as part of the USDA National Organic Program.

For the last nine growing seasons, people have been able to rent a garden space and grow their own food; purchase food grown here on the farm; attend our various "how-to" workshops to learn better ways to grow food at home; and rent the farm for special events. As we enter our tenth season, we’re embracing some changes and looking forward to the bounty this season will bring.

Certified Organic Food, REALLY!

Full food clarity is what we believe in. We want to know how and where our food is grown. We want accurate information, so that we can make informed decisions about what we buy and what we eat. When you shop for food at Shadowood, you can rest assured that every item you purchase is 100%, certified organic. We’re about as low tech as a farm can get, growing food the old fashioned way: in well tended soil, in the open air, using real non-GMO seeds, and with human hands devotedly guiding the process.

For most people, organic food is a pathway to better human health. Here at the farm, growing organic food is a steadfast commitment to the health of this planet and to future generations.

Weddings and Events

Love is in the air every day at Shadowood. It’s an honor to share this small farm with others who respect the earth and all of the gifts that Mother Nature bestows upon us. For owners Bob and Sarah Fenton, their love affair with this land began in 1983. For the Fenton family, every day at the farm is filled with gratitude for the beauty of this space. Once you’ve decided to say, “I do”, you shouldn’t have to mortgage your soul to make your special day happen. Shadowood Farm is pleased to offer a lovely, casual, outdoor space to share your vows with family and friends, at an affordable price.

The farm is also available for non-wedding events such as meetings, field trips and private parties.

Learning To Grow & Garden Supplies

At Shadowood, we do our best to offer educational opportunities for those who wish to learn more about creating responsibly grown, organic food in Martin County, FL. At the beginning of our annual food growing season (mid-September), we offer a variety of “How To Garden” workshops that are open to the general public. These classes are geared towards beginner gardeners who have no prior food growing experiences in this part of Florida.

We’re also proud to provide the public with the same organic seeds, starter plants and growing products that we use in our own production gardens.
