Shadowood Farm is devoted to teaching people how to grow their own organic food and sharing that gloriously GOOD food with others.
This ten acre, solar powered, experimental farm began growing organic vegetables and fruits in 2010. Prior to 2010, we spent over two decades growing Native plants.
Organic and sustainable are more than just fashionable buzz words around here.
For the last eight years, people have been able to rent a garden space and grow their own food; purchase food grown here on the farm; attend our various "how-to" workshops to learn better ways to grow food at home; and rent the farm for special events. Our 9th season is underway and we’re looking forward to the bounty it will bring.
SPECIAL EVENT ON OCTOBER 21st, 2018
Growing food for bodies is normally our primary goal at the farm. In these troubling times, sharing food for thought feels equally important to us.
Do you confidently stroll through life secure in your first amendment rights? Well, hang on to your hats. People you know may get hammered with a SLAPP suit for speaking their mind publicly! Join us at Shadowood Farm on Sunday, October 21st at 2PM for an engaging panel discussion regarding “Ethics and Free Speech.” Find more details on our NEWS page. Please note that if you are uncomfortable with online registration for this event, you are welcome to e-mail us to request a paper registration form.

About Growing Food
People have the option to rent ready-made planting beds and learn to grow food in a hands-on environment. In addition to teaching our gardeners how to grow great organic veggies and herbs, Shadowood offers a variety of educational workshops for home gardeners that are open to the public.
Buying Our food & More
During the summer months (May through early September) all of our garden beds are filled with cover crops, so no food is available for sale during these months. Creating green manure and letting our beds rest is our summer priority, which in turn helps us to re-nourish our precious soil and grow fabulous food when the fall growing season begins. From late October/early November through April (and sometimes into May) we do sell our fabulous Shadowood Grown and other certified organic produce.
