What a Summer!
Well, no one who owns
property in the Southeast can say that it hasn't been an action packed
summer! Just as we were trying to wrap up our work in the mountains,
the Hurricanes arrived...As our section of Florida was hammered by Frances
and Jeanne, western North Carolina was devastated by the fall out from
Frances
and Ivan.
Even though the major news media refused to recognize that there's anything
between West Palm Beach and Vero Beach, we all know that Martin County
is where both
Frances and Jeanne made landfall. We were all impacted by these hurricanes,
and there is no doubt that our cleanup and repairs will be going on
for months. We
hope that all of you are safe and making headway in your cleanup efforts.
As devastated as we all have been, we only need look at our neighbors
to the south
in undeveloped nations to be reminded how truly fortunate we are.
Circumstances
of the last two months have prompted us to review what we need to
do. Obvious to some of you by now, we will not be opening
up in mid-October.
At this writing, we are still in North Carolina working on repairs here.
The plan we have devised is one that we hope will allow us to best serve
our clients
and give us the opportunity to make repairs at the Farm.

The
Details...
Growers in the state of Florida have taken
a huge hit from these storms. Many crops have been destroyed, others
compromised. For
example, the grower
who
does most of our Annuals (Impatiens, Geraniums, etc.) lost their entire first
crop
and will have no plants ready until 11/8.
We
all need time and the graces of Mother Nature to allow us to reclaim
our plants. Rather than have regular
Retail
hours at this time, we have scheduled two sets of dates for “Plant
Sales” that
will take place on Fridays, Saturdays ,and Sundays.
Our
first Sale Dates will be: November
12, 13, 14
Our
second Sale Dates will be: December 10, 11, 12
During
these dates, we will be open to the public between 9AM and 4PM.
As
of November 1, our office will reopen. We will gladly see customers
by appointment.
